What age group or academic level are these courses for?

Our fashion courses are open to anyone between the ages of 15 and 26 (check course details for specifics), regardless of their academic background or skill level.

Whether you're a high school student, a college graduate, or a fashion enthusiast looking to enhance your skills, we have a course that suits your needs. Our programs are designed to provide a comprehensive and inclusive fashion education experience to help you achieve your goals in the industry.

What is the cost of a course?

The cost of each course may vary depending on the level of the class. Our introductory course, "Introduction to Fashion Design", is currently available for enrollment at a discounted price of $1,920 for a limited time only, which is $120 per class over a 16-week period. The regular cost of this course is $2,400 ($150 per class).

What are the acceptable forms of payment?

We offer various payment options, including most major credit cards (AMEX, Discover, Mastercard, Visa, UnionPay, JCB, etc.), as well as Apple Pay and PayPal, to make it easy for you to enroll in our courses.

Wire transfers are also accepted, but please note that they must be received before the start date of the course. We recommend confirming payment options with EFA before submitting your enrollment.

Are payment plans available for these courses?

Yes, a payment plan is possible if and when requested prior to starting the course and can be arranged by contacting us.

Are there scholarships for these courses?

At this time, we do not have any scholarship opportunities available for our courses. However, we are constantly evaluating and expanding our options for financial aid and scholarships to help make our courses more accessible.

Applying

How do I apply?

Simply visit our website, select the course you are interested in, and click the 'Enroll Now' button. There are no formal application requirements or processes - we welcome students from all backgrounds and experiences. As long as you meet the age requirement for your selected course, you are eligible to enroll.

What are the enrollment requirements?

The enrollment requirements for each course are listed in the course description. Please review the description to ensure that you meet the minimum requirements before enrolling in our courses. Additionally, students' ages will be verified prior to the start date of the course to ensure that they fall within the required age range.

Can I enroll in more than one course?

Yes, students are welcome to enroll into multiple courses at the same time. However, we recommend that students carefully consider their workload and availability before enrolling in more than one course to ensure that they can fully commit to each program's requirements and get the most out of their learning experience.

How will I know I have enrolled successfully?

After enrolling in a course, you will receive a receipt of payment. Shortly after, you will receive an email from us with instructions on how to verify your age and access the course once the semester begins. Please be sure to check your inbox and spam folder in case these instructions end up there. If you haven't received any correspondence from us within a week of your enrollment, please reach out to confirm that we have your correct contact information. If you enroll less than a week before the course start date, you can expect to receive these instructions within two days of the start date.

Course Information

How is course content delivered?

Our courses feature engaging and interactive lessons delivered via pre-recorded videos, along with weekly mentor learning and support sessions led by your course mentor. Students enrolled in online and hybrid classes may also participate in occasional field trips. You'll complete assignments and other activities on your own schedule, but please ensure to submit them by the deadline provided for each lesson.

What is the time commitment/how long are the courses?

The duration of each course varies based on the specific program you choose. Generally, courses range from 4 to 16 weeks, with a minimum commitment of 48 hours in total. During this time, you will have the flexibility to complete the coursework on your own schedule, but all assignments must be completed before the end of the course. Regardless of whether you choose the hybrid or online option, you will receive the same program content, sessions, and support.

When do I gain access to the course?

Once you have enrolled and paid for the program, you will receive an invitation to join the online course at least 2 days before the course start date. If you enroll near the deadline, there may be a slight delay in receiving the credentials. It's important to note that you must complete the age verification process before the start of the course. Failure to do so may result in a partial refund of your payment.

Additionally, after completing the course, you will continue to have view-only access to the course for up to 2 years from the course end date.

Will I earn college credit by taking these courses?

No, these courses are not designed for college credit. They are designed for personal enrichment and professional development. However, completing the course and demonstrating proficiency may help you strengthen your college or job application. You will receive a certificate of completion from EFA and a digital badge that you can add to your portfolio or resume to showcase your achievement.

Will I receive proof of completion or a certificate of some kind?

Absolutely, upon successful completion of at least 90% of the course assignments and the final project by the end of the course, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. The certificate serves as proof of your achievement and can be used to demonstrate your commitment to learning and professional development.

What are the technical requirements for these courses?

To successfully participate in our courses, you will need a strong internet connection (WiFi or wired) as the course and mentor learning sessions are online. While we recommend using a desktop or laptop, our courses are also mobile-accessible. Some of our courses may require a domestic straight-stitch sewing machine, so please review the course details carefully to identify if your selected program will require one.

Please note that our "Introduction to Fashion Design" courses require a domestic sewing machine and a basic understanding of how to use one.

How do I access my online course?

Once you’ve applied for and paid for the program, you’ll receive an online course invitation at least 2 days prior to your course start date. If you don't receive the invitation, please check your spam folder or reach out to our support team for assistance. Once you have the course invitation, you can access the course by following the instructions provided in the invitation.

How long do I have access to the course?

You will have view-only access to the online course for 2 years from your course end date.

Assignments & Grading

How will you be graded?

Each unit assignment, as well as the Final Project, will be assessed on a rubric based on completeness and adherence to assignment requirements. Assignments will be graded as either "Complete" or "Incomplete". Please note that in order to receive a Certificate of Completion, you must complete at least 90% of the module assignments and the final project by the end of the course.

What are assignments like?

Each course includes engaging and curated assignments at the end of each module to reinforce your understanding of the course content.

Additionally, each module culminates in one final project where you can demonstrate what you’ve learned throughout the course. You’ll have the opportunity to choose from a variety of topics covered in your course, and you can use any media you prefer, such as text, video, photography, or PowerPoint. Your course mentor will provide feedback on your work, and you'll be able to list your project on future college or internship applications.

How much time do you get to complete assignments and the final project?

You will have a set amount of time to complete each module's assignments, typically one to two weeks. The final project will be due at the end of the course. You'll receive specific deadlines for each assignment and the final project at the start of your course. It is important to complete all assignments by their respective deadlines in order to successfully complete the course.

Who teaches EFA courses?

How does your mentor help you throughout the program?

Your course instructor and mentor, Ijeoma, will teach and support you throughout the course. She will answer your course-related questions, provide guidance, encouragement, and recommendations, and give feedback on your assignments and final project.

How do I connect with my Mentor?

You'll have the opportunity to connect with your mentor virtually through the Slack inbox and discussion board. Your mentor will provide feedback on course assignments and the final project, and you can reach out to her whenever you have questions or need support regarding your course content and deadlines. For hybrid students, you'll also have the opportunity to connect with your mentor in-person during the course.

Refund Policy Information

What’s the refund policy?

We understand that plans can change, so we offer a flexible refund policy. You may request a full refund if you notify us at least 15 days prior to the start of your scheduled course. After that, payments become 50% refundable if you request a refund at least 14 days prior to your scheduled course start date.

Please note that deferral to the following term is possible once per enrollment.

Can I deferral my enrollment?

Absolutely, you can request a deferral to begin the course the following term. A deferral request can only be made once.
